the 1970s
Winery owner Sharon Klay and her husband Dr. John Klay developed a passion for winemaking while living in New York City in the 1970s. That spark grew into something extraordinary.
Their research led them to select nearly 100 grape varieties suited for Pennsylvania’s cool climate, growing into a family owned estate winery and boutique distillery unlike any other near Pittsburgh or Morgantown, WV.
